Synopsis

Ravenously Yours

Mary and Cassie both harbor a forbidden hunger. When they meet in an online forum, there connection is instant, bonding over a their shared secret. They don’t want to eat what they cherish and so begin a bloody journey, where no one is safe.

Banana Peel

Tasha loves her fiance, the colour yellow and bananas…some might say too much. Their entire shared apartment is decorated in bananas or anything the colour yellow. But Tasha has one fantasy, one that only her fiance can give to her, whether he wants to or not.

My Thoughts

This was delightfully fun but also incredibly disturbing. It was a great read for pride month as Ravenously Yours has a sapphic couple, which I enjoyed a lot.

Ravenously Yours is the longer of the two stories and was my favourite. I enjoyed the relationship between Cassie and Mary, neither of them are the ‘man’. This is nothing against masc lesbians, but sometimes authors write sapphic romance in like that but this is written so well. A favourite trope of mine is cannibalism as a symbol of love (thanks, Hannibal), and this does it so well. They are a sweet – but murderous – couple. I love that she calls her Cassierole, it genuinely had me crying of laughter. The ending kind of came out of nowhere but it was still entertaining.

Banana Peel was pretty strange. I did enjoy it but I can’t imagine liking bananas that much. The body horror in this was so gross but very well written. I would not recommend eating bananas after this. It was only 30 pages long but it was fun and entertaining.

This was my 2nd Lesley A Camphouse novel and my first Risshan Adele novel, I will be picking up more from these authors because this was a really fun and quick read which I love.
